Part One.
Investing in Me. Yeah me. As in my body, my mind, and my goals.
Sounds too easy right?! But this is something I struggled with and have for a long time now. I thought after giving birth and now that the boys are a bit older I’d know exactly what I should/would/could be doing. Errrrm wrong!! I grab hold of something, it lasts 2 seconds and boom I’ve lost interest or it feels strange.
We’re all trying to find balance right? So how do you find that when life is forever changing around you?
But how do I do this? How do I maintain consistency? and how do I know what I’m doing when I find out what to do… is working?
What I do know is I like is a ‘good schedule’ as my great childhood friend Gabi would say in our Uni days. Knowing when and how something is going to happen helps me feel in control of my world.
But I do also love to be free and spontaneous and try new things…
Maybe I just need to jump completely out of my comfort zone and take a pottery class or something?
Do you see all of these questions?
I say fuck the questions! I’m a visual person so I’m going to break down the 3 areas I want to work on and semi organize myself within them.
Please bare in mind…. I’m just making this up as I go – that way I can reflect on my initial ideas and see if any of this writing-shit-down will keep me accountable.
Boom! Here goes….. Week One is on!!
Body – Exercise = 30-60mins a day of movement. Food = Mindful eating. These two are key and totally control everything from mood to self care to dressing this body.
Mind – Relax = Spend some time clearing everything out of the way…. maybe google meditation or similar…. heck this probably calls for a wine in the bath when the small humans are snoozing.
Goals – Daily = Aim for all of the above. Weekly = Aim for all of the above x7! Haha now I know that seems some what unoriginal, boring and crazy easy but if I feel like I have to do too much then I’ll stash it in the too hard basket and struggle to attempt it.
I hope that by highlighting things that I struggle with it will open new ways to doing things – being mindful I guess is key here.
My aim is to create little habits that over a length of time that just become my normal. I haven’t read any books on how to do this because I have to find my own motivation from within rather than getting it externally…. make sense?
What small things have you done to build long lasting habits that encourage you to be the best you that there is?
